How dare you infuse logic into an internet meme!

Seriously, we had a massive throwdown on a friend's FB page thanks to that stupid little big of internal virality. I'm not a happy camper about it and all it does is make me want to see heatlh care reform less.

As far as a panel of people deciding what care and medication you can or cannot have, well, that's what health insurance does already. Not saying public option would be better or worse, but your insurance already gets to pick and choose what it will or won't pay for. And a public option wouldn't say you CAN'T have a medication, just whether it will pay for it. Just like regular insurance.

Actually, my health care only says that I should have the generics (when possible), which I don't mind. My Doctor says what I should take. If it was the other way around, I wouldn't be on cholesterol lowering meds. Then again, if it was the other way around, I could always change companies. Lets take a look at Blue Cross Blus Shield (or Blue Sh*t, as I call them). When I worked for La-Z-Boy, they were happy to insure me (through the company of course). When I left, did my time with COBRA, got my HIPPA letter, they tried to refuse me a quote (and were upset when I told them they had to provide a quote under the HIPPA rules). Worse, I know of someone else who has similar conditions (one less then me) that also tried to get a quote from BCBS, and BCBS hung up on them rather then give them a quote.
Yes, the health care system needs reform. But again, I don't trust my over spending, can't balance a budget government to do better then the private sector.
