It was final tonight; he passed at 8:16 pm. We actually got a priest from his local church to read him his last rights around 4 this afternoon. At least he's though with all his suffering.

I'm pretty much a complete stranger. I read something of this in a mutual friend's journal. Not the best time for introductions, I know... but I went through this myself a little over three years ago.

The one thing people seem to need at times like this is just to be present and to listen. I can't give that to you, due to living halfway across the country, but I want you to know that I'm praying for you and for your father.
