My mention of the heartbreakingness was not a complaint, btw. You tap in so well to not just problems the Scoobies face, but issues that relate to how life is generally, and that includes the readers, and that just makes the ache more real. Which is not to say I'm rooting for more pain, but presently your mix of the angst and the funny is good. (I keep rereading the scene where drunk Buffy and Spike get into bed with Willow, because it entertains me so. "S'my bed." *snort*) Even if I do really want somebody to cosset Spike... that's just my personal kink, y'know, cossetting.

Yikes! Poor Spike and poor Xander, especially poor Spike. All the thoughts he's probably thought himself in his lowest moments dragged out into the light of day. No wonder he pulled himself away from Buffy. That bed is going to be mighty cold for a while.
