don't think i wasn't envious last night of seeing you control an evening not unlike many other evenings where the audience is too small to be called an audience but treated to something more than special. i can't stockpile the poems but i've accepted that. the new poems get read just the same although not all at once. and i totally agree with new poems giving you license to read old ones. and i wouldn't mind hearing them all again this saturday night.

I know what you mean. I know you write enough for a couple of all-new features each year, but having a weekly open mic prevents that. You're obviously not one of the poets I was trying to make a statement to. Your work ethic and commitment really rubbed off on me, back when I was more involved with your weekly reading. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to pull that off, last night.

Yeah, the configuration of that alley is kind of awkward. There were about 25 people there, but with everyone lined up in a row, it felt anything but intimate. I'm really looking forward to our Saturday night show. That's a great room to read in.
