I don't know why it didn't occur to me before now to post this here ...
The game is afoot and retired lead Auror Harry Potter is rumored to be seeking the best and the brightest to suss out a mystery.
Owls have been seen coming to and fro from Harry's former place of residence for weeks now. Those few members of Wizarding society who've had the presence of mind to pay attention are starting to wonder what exactly is going on with the Man Who Lived.
Perhaps the rumors are true and he is preparing his bid for the Ministry of Magic?
Or he has finally decided to tie the knot with Miss Ginevra Weasley of the Hollyhead Harpies?
Or should we all, good witches and wizards, citizens of a free Wizarding Britain, be afraid that evil is once again on the rise and only the Man Who Lived can show us the way to freedom?

Mundane details ...
I've agreed to do an adult (as in maturity and character age) level game set in JK Rowling's Harry Potter universe. As you can see from the teaser above, this will be something of a whodunnit. This is also an "Epilogue, What Epilogue?" game set approximately 20 years past the end of the Harry Potter series (minus the thing referred to as an Epilogue).
This game will run every other Sunday from approximately 2pm to approximately 6pm, giving people time to eat beforehand and afterward. I expect it to run at least 8 sessions, potentially longer, depending on the dynamics of the group. I'm looking for between 4-8 players and will have different levels of experience involved, from complete newb to more experienced.
The date in February is on the 27th. Starting in March, the weekends will alternate and be on the 6th and the 20th. If you're interested, but couldn't make the 27th for character creation, drop me a line and I'm sure we could work out a separate cc session. Likewise, if you're interested, but it could be a few weeks before you could join, drop me a line and I'd be happy to see if we could work you in anyway.
Personally, I think I've got a fun concept going on here and expect the next February session to be devoted to character creation. The system in place will be something of a bastardization of a homegrown bastardization, similar to a previous venture into the Hogwarts verse that Robert hosted a number of years ago for me. I do request a passing familiarity with the Harry Potter universe, preferably having read all the books and/or seen the movies. (While cluelessness can be fun, I won't be held responsible if someone hasn't finished the series and I spoil the ending for them.)
I should note that the scheduling is based on weekends that I do not have Alanna (my daughter) for many reasons. It should be noted that while I, personally, am child friendly, the apartment that Kat and I live in isn't very child-friendly, nor is there sufficient space for kids and adults to coexist peacefully for gaming purposes for four hours. Parents should plan accordingly.
For folks who don't know me or don't know me very well, I don't GM very often, but I'm very plot driven and have an open mind. If you're looking for roll playing, rather than role playing ... this isn't the game for you. If you're looking for laughter, good times, scene driven seriousness, a gm that takes bribes and occasionally threatens the use of duct tape ... then this is the game for you.
Other details that may affect your decision ... I live out in Aurora near Buckley and Alameda. I have a large (but very sweet and gentle and such a pet slut) Malamute who sheds like crazy. I'm pagan, bisexual, and polyamorous. (I don't "recruit" and I'm not going to hit on you unless I have clear signals that you're fair game, but this isn't something I hide either.) I have a female partner and am going slowly through a painful, but needed, divorce. I'm pro-Slytherin and have been for years and I feel strongly that Han shot first. Alright, these are the details that I can think of that aren't game related that may affect someone's choice to join a bi-weekly game that I'm running.
If you're interested and have ANY questions at all, please drop me a line at my direct email (draconisleona@gmail.com) and I'd be happy to answer them. Oh, I almost forgot, only three of the slots are filled for the game right now, so I'm looking for up to five more people!
(If you comment here and are interested, give me an email address and I'll email you the pdf in game "invite" with my number & address.)
Thank you!
