So I pretty much just f-locked my entire LJ except for a few posts. I know earlier I said I would f-lock everything but I never got around to finishing. Well, today I did. Yay for me

I just can't bring myself to f-lock everything. I've very deliberately left fandom related things open my entire journaling career.

If people find my journal offensive, they can just not read it.

Yeah, out of the few journal entries I left unlocked, a couple fanfics were one of them. If I was more involved I'd leave everything fic-related open. I hate how all these communities are making members go back and f-lock everything so that if you aren't a member of the community you can't read any of the fic, and then the communities are also not taking new members because everyone is so paranoid. So people who don't post fic in their own journals and just have links to closed communities are really annoying me right now.

Ah yes. The second I realized that posting fic in a community rather than my own journal meant I lost real control of it, I started only posting fic in my journal and linked to it in communities. I don't know why more people don't do that.

The crackdown and resulting paranoia are really quite unfortunate for everyone involved. :(
