I last updated this story in early 2009, and even before that my writing had slowed to a trickle, just a chapter a year for several years. But I never quite admitted to myself that I had abandoned this story; I kept thinking "someday, maybe, I'll finish it

By the way, if you read fic on Kindle -- did you know that when you view a fic on AO3 (for instance, here's That Good Night) there's a "download" button at the top of the story that lets you download the whole thing in .mobi format for the Kindle?

Thank you so much for giving us closure on this story. The Fragments series has long been one of my favorites, but this one in particular. It's rare among fanfic (at least to me) in that it's such a complete immersion experience -- the futures you've envisioned for everyone, their voices... all of it feels so right, and -- struggling for the right words here -- the characters still think about how to be heroes. I love that you brought up the issue of poverty in Sao Paulo, of Xander's jealously, of the pros and cons of treatment for terminal cases... all things that real people struggle with, as well as the supernatural stuff. (Drusilla frozen in the landing gear! Great image -- that really gave me a shiver.) And the reveal about the Shanshu, and the ( ... )
