doooood... I laughed out loud when I read this. You sound like me.... MS Smooth. ;P
I missouri where I went to school it was VERY hill-y with steep climbs in all directions from the main housing area. One day walking back from class (downhill) along the busy street, I stepped on some acorn-ish tree seed (actually a couple of them at one) and fell, sprawling forward tried to catch myself with my hands/arms, had my heavy backpack flip over my head as I continued to fall and bloody my hands.
Yeah, there was no graceful way to get up from that one. At least I actually laughed at myself... it HAD to have been funny from the observers' standpoint.
One day when I was about 9 or 10 and first learning how to stunt bike, it had iced over and we had decided that we could do some really clean, smooth grinds on all the concrete ledges thanks to the ice, so were were hell-bent on going out. We argued with their parents until they gave up and said okay, and we all hopped on our bikes, got about 25 feet down the road and all slid out simultaneously. It took us about 20 tries each to get back up without slipping, and all the while their parents were watching from the window laughing their asses off.
When we got back inside, they made us hot chocolate and pizza and laughed at us some more.
