Mardi Gras and Tornado surfing
Just got home from a 10 day trip to South Texas for a funeral. Everyone else headed back home Saturday but we decided to go down to the coast and catch the last few days of Mardi Gras. Well, That was Interesting . . .
Eleven o'clock last night our power goes out (it's 16 degrees F outside!) Five minutes later the police, fire trucks, ambulance, and army (yes, army!) show up on the street in front of our house. Gee, thanks for the help guys, but I really want to see the electric company truck ( Read more... ) -

Technology Withdrawal
I just spent 3 days with a great aunt and uncle. I'd taken my laptop so I could keep up with life outside of the 1950s while I was there, but only had a few hours of usage. I had not counted on the house they have lived in since they got married in the 1940 being an issue. NONE of the electrical outlets had a 3-prong plug! I love them and really ( Read more... ) -

I played hooky from work today. I could have cleaned the house. I should have done homework. I probably should have caught up on some work from home. I did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I watched television, read way too much fanfic, I ate too much, and made myself a new icon.(Points to left). It's been a wonderful lazy day. -

Why on earth did I ever think that I could handle FOUR master's level classes at the same time??? This is insane! Yes, I work for the university and I'm helping develop the MBA program. I never wanted a business degree and I ended up with a BS in Organizational Development because I worked for a company that paid for my education. Now I'm working ( Read more... ) -

I got into a fight with a kidney stone earlier this week and lost. People say that it feels as bad as having a baby. Now, I've never given birth, but it can't possibly be as bad as passing a kidney stone. If it was there would be a whole lot less babies born in this world ( Read more... ) -
