First, can you afford to have her vetted and spend perhaps a lot of money without it hurting you financially. If yes then I would say take her and see what happens. If you can't really afford expensive vet checks and treatments then I would perhaps consider a no-kill shelter though they may not take her based on age. I think having her put down would be my last resort. Good luck. *hugs*
Not really. I'm stable but 1 or 2 large unexpected bills would send me down the path of despair pretty easily. I'm already on 300mg Seroquel tables, forbidden to drink alcohol, and popping Hydrocodones at a rate that might even make Rush Limbaugh jealous. One seriously bad event right now, and my doctor is liable to suggest a few months stay in a psychiatric care facility.
Yeah, you aren't supposed to drink and take Seroquel...the mate takes that too but not in that dosage.
If it wasn't blistering hot and you had a fences yard I would suggest putting her outside to see how she did. We ended up doing that with one of our problem cats and it all turned out fine.
He's threatening me with 400 mg but I have such severe acid reflux from it, as well as being brain dead for about 3 hours after I wake up, he's not about to do it. I tried cutting the dosage in 1/2 one night as a test, and spent the night having horrible panic attacks. Should've known better.
I do have a fenced yard, but there is broken glass, and all sorts of other crap back there. Not to mention I don't want to know what the possum family would do if they caught her. She doesn't have front claws.
Can you prove it was the cat food that did it? There were some large lawsuits against the companies that produced it that should cover any medical expenses.
*nods* And tons more everyday as more people lose their jobs and homes. I hate myself for it, but I'm also trying to remember something I seem to have hell learning. I can't be there to help others if I can't help myself. With me all stressed out about the cat, and other things, I hide at home and friends have to come hunt me down and drag me out. Can't be healthy, and go figure, my doctor ain't too impressed with me right now.
You don't really need to worry too much about karma. Max and I figured we'd be taking care of you and changing your colonoscopy bag when the time comes. We're not exactly the best looking pair of care givers so maybe that's your karmatic justice.
Another thing you need to consider is the quality of freckles life. is it adversely affecting her? She's gained a lot of weight due to the continual eating and purging.
Sebastian was old. He always seemed to be hurting when he'd come sit in my lap and visit with me. I was sad when he needed to go but I think it was best for him.
In my family I'm usually the one called on to make the hard decisions like that. Its a crappy situation to be in but in the time of need that's when its time to put aside personal feelings in find the temporary strength to do what needs to be done. There's always time to sort out feelings later.
Which brings me to contradictory statement: Beating yourself up over what's done isn't productive. You know you did what needed to be done for Bast. You're just feeling heartless because you miss him and your habit is to blame your deficiencies for the problem. The truth is he was old and I doubt not moving would have done much for him. He wasn't doing well in the duplex either.
The house was a good test for you because it gave you the confidence that you could maintain the budget to own a house again. I doubt you'd be in your own place right now if you hadn't made that move.
I know I'm my own worst critic. I just get frustrated when there are not clearly defined paths to take so I can evaluate them and select the appropriate one based on the final outcome. I'm not good with vague.
Two things I've learned from experience in cats constantly throwing up: 1. Get the cat wheat grass at petsmart for her to eat. She'll still puke it up for the first couple of days, but it'll settle her down after that 2. Switch her food to the brand Nutro. Get the older cat kind
3. **Most important of all, even if you do neither of the other two things. Give her colloidal silver to drink once a week***
The FDA also found that gay men can't donate blood and I can't have a 200Mw green laser. Why or how I'm going to be ingesting a 200Mw green laser I'm still not sure. :p
