As of yesterday morning--one of the several times I woke up--I had a fair-to-middlin' sore throat. Sometime in the early afternoon, Meg and I happened to be at Safeway anyhoo, so she recommended that I get some cough drops. The conversation went something like this

(2) Plenty of rest. Sleep is not for the weak, it is for you to get better.
(3) Hot baths/showers help move steam into your lungs and thin out the mucoid crud which causes coughs. When I'm sick it's not unusual for me to take at least 2 baths/showers daily simply to feel better.

I keep meaning to pick up more Yin Chiao, as well -- a Chinese cold remedy which, although it can't get rid of a virus, at least seems to keep it from getting any worse. If taken when things are still at the "sore throat, might get worse" stage, it tends to keep it at a few days of sore throat and nothing more. It kept me from succumbing to flu when I was doing loooong periods of sitting in a warehouse for the six days of Battlebots.
