well yeah, but I know that some of them try and claim things like multiple achievements, intelligence, etc. But yes, this was clearly her not having an answer/comprehension. It is on the spot, but still frightening.

I guess she's an example of why students might not be able to find the US on a map - they might not understand the question?

Heh!
"Let's try to take an existing sound bite and cram it in as the answer to the question, even if it's entirely inappropriate!"

Also: "The American US" !?!?!?!?!? WTF!?????

it must be a useful skill, yes?

The true answer is "Because we don't teach geography any more, in most schools"

It's a BEAUTY pageant... not ladies trying to win the Nobel Prize. Those girls could get up there and babble in tongues and froth at the mouth and as long as they were showing some T&A and people would watch.

So the big question is... Was Darwin wrong!?

You're not wrong.

But they don't claim these things as "beauty" pageants anymore. "It's more than beauty," they say. It's a scholarship program.

More proof of the BS.

Actually, it's a simple example of she panicked and barely heard the question, and didn't have the experience to ask to hear the question again.

While yes, they practice, that doesn't mean that someone might not panic sometimes
