Christmas Love

Dec 20, 2010 10:45

It's that time of the year again and I want to do something nice for people; naturally I'm short of money but have some time on my hands.  Thus I propose a love post.

Here's the deal: If your friend doesn’t have a thread created for them then leave a comment with their name as the title and say what you love about them. If there is a thread for ( Read more... )

He's brutal, he's evil and very, very cruel.

Oh wait, we are supposed to say nice things? Hmmm...

Seriously though, he works so hard to keep the Idol community going strong, and does an amazing job at it. Even in the face of drama, he remains in control and doesn't let things get too crazy. He does an amazing job with what he does, and on top of it, he's a pretty good guy (if you bribe him with cookies). He often gets looked over, people take what he does for granted, but I sincerely want to thank him for everything that he does for the Idol group. It's an amazing group of people and all thanks to him :)

The amount of time and work he invests in Idol, which touches so many people and means so much to so many of us, is absolutely astonishing and selfless. How many Idolers owe our friendships and relationships to a guy who hides in the shadows and makes sure all the glory and limelight stay on the players? Also he's evil, but I've always liked that in a person. He just knocks my socks off, and I've got a great big LJ-crush on him ;)

Gary is a lot of fun to talk to and has excellent taste in music. I love how much he puts into Idol, because he really has created something special and brought some amazing friends into my life. But, more than that, I love how he's been so easy to approach and open-minded and entertaining.

I really like the man behind the curtain.

I've only interacted with Gary personally twice, and both times he's been incredibly kind, compassionate and thoughtful. Maybe that shouldn't have surprised me, but I've never been one to rely on the kindness of strangers. For all that he's cruel and brutal with Idol at times, he's a really great person, and I think it's amazing, all the time and effort he puts into making this all happen.

Gary is an awesome friend. He's funny, smart, and he loves football and politics! What more could you ask for in a friend?

Gary is directly responsible for reawakening the writer in me. And that is saying a LOT. Plus, he gets all my ancient pop culture references. :)

Gary is deviously clever. His antics are renowned but his ability to inspire us to be better writers is unparalleled. AND he loves Survivor and cookies, so that makes him one cool cat, IMHO.

He's a dear, dear friend. He's an absolute sweetheart and a great listener. He deserves every happiness in the world and I hope that one day he recognises that about himself. I also hope that he writes a lot more and gets more active on LJ because he has a wicked sense of humour and a fantastic turn of phrase.

And I intentionally didn't mention Idol because he already knows how I feel about him and that. And if he doesn't, he ought to.

He's a great guy that doesn't get nearly the credit he deserves. He's smart, funny and despite his love of all things Steelers, somebody I like very much. What he's created with Idol is so special and so unique... and it's brought together so many people that may not have otherwise met. He puts so much of himself into the game and expects nothing in return... he's got a golden heart beneath the cantankerous and crusty exterior. :-)

Gotta "like" a guy who "likes" everything you do on Facebook ;)
