Xyber 9 spoilers . . .
Balance of Power can be summed up with one sentence: Machestro got owned. Yeah, all hell had pretty much broken loose and he'd even gotten ahold of the Xyber, but he came up against the brick wall of one highly annoyed Jack and the brand new Spider Fighter. 
Yeah, not good for my favorite villain, as you'll see in a second. Jack readies the guns on the Spider Fighter, but Machestro thinks the kid's bluffing. One problem, Jack NEVER bluffs. The first shot blasts off a piece of Machestro's shoulder armor, but he's not giving up yet. Second shot knocks him on his ass and puts a hole in his visor.
Ordinarily this probably wouldn't be a problem, but the sun's coming up. With the coming sunrise and those big guns pointed at him, Machestro's forced to give up the Xyber and retreat.
And a little later, there's an odd occurrence . . . Machestro had more or less promised to kill Renard this time if he failed, and he shows up again to keep his word. However, something makes him stop short and walk away. Maybe even he's not so merciless as to kill someone when they look that pathetic? It might be something else, though . . .
