Yay and AAARGH, at the same time . . .

So yay, I have a decent internet connection now, it's ridiculous how fast it is . . . and so I hooked up all my game systems to it one after another. One problem, updating my Xbox wiped it's entire drive clean! If I'd known it was gonna do that I wouldn't have even tried to update it . . . all those saves and achievements, gone in a blink. That's disconcerting, considering it was immediately following the update that mine red ringed. I don't know if my hard drive contents are ok, since I couldn't get the thing to boot after the update. Lovely. Guess I'll find out when it comes back...

It updated itself the second I tried signing onto Live, and it seemed like it worked. I even made an avatar with the NXE thing. I'm not sure what happened, though . . . when I tried to get on Live again it made me make another avatar, and that's when I noticed my files were all gone.

Still, UGH . . . your console is nice, Microsoft, but next time make one with fewer technical glitches!

The curse of Bak'laag strikes!

I don't have a 360, but I do know the pain of losing save files. I had a third party memory card for PS1 games and back in 2005 I lost the save files for every game except Final Fantasy IX (it was one of those extra-large capacity memory cards that mimicked multiple PS1 cards, and Final Fantasy IX was in a different slot).

I've still yet to re-beat Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy VIII.
