Life update

So. It's been...over a month. I'm settling in nicely at my new job, and they are keeping me quite comfortably busy. I've been learning lots of new things as well as brushing up on older and half-remembered skills. I will say this, though...after spending several hours using VIM almost exclusively it can be something of a challenge to remember that ESC doesn't throw me into a non-insert mode where I can use H, J, K, and L to scroll quickly through a document, and that I really can't use those keys to scroll through a webpage.

I hear you. After spending a long time painting in Photoshop, I keep forgetting that I can't just hold down the spacebar and use the mouse to move the page around for navigation. I usually realize this once the page starts scrolling instead. Oops.

Good Luck on the Apt finding!

It's amazing how often you need to learn new stuff in the Website design biz. A few years puts you completely out of date. Good Luck learning!

It's not "apartment finding" it is "moving in". I already know where I'll be going, it's just a matter of timing things.

As for the web design stuff...I'm only having to learn scads and scads of new stuff because I more or less completely stopped for a couple of years. Had I been keeping up with it I probably would have been picking up these skills all along the way.
