I freaking love James and the Giant Peach. I think I've read it at least three times. I just love all of Roald Dahl's books. :)

That was the first book I read learning to read. I got to read the last chapter to my dad. I also had trouble with "the" though. I didn't understand that word

That's a pretty ambitious book to read by yourself when you're learning to read. My first book was Green Eggs and Ham and I thought that book was horrendously long when I was little. lol

Well, my dad read the book to me and by the time we got to the last chapter, I had learned from listening to him. But the first book I read by myself was like Green Eggs and Ham. I thought Cat in the Hat was too hard; too many words. lol

I love To Kill a Mockingbird. Now, you've made me want to find a way to figure out how to teach it. I mean, I am capable of teaching it. I just don't know that it's allowed.

Sorry, saw your comment and had to reply.
Most schools that I know of assign To Kill a Mockingbird. It's a standard novel in my high school anyway, I read it freshman year.
I think most schools agree it needs to be taught.
