School Is Getting Me Down

Boy, University sure is different from Community College.

At Centralia College, I merely had to be Wonder Woman.  At Washington State University, I have to be Supergirl.

My workload is ridiculous, even for having dropped one of my four classes ( multicultural study - I just had too much other crap going on to worry about that as well ).  My biology ( Read more... )

I feel your pain, it's not only the Universities though. I got a lovely 69% on my History Exam. My professor somehow thought that we could recite the ENTIRE Civil War in an hour long exam, going into every little detail. And I mean every detail. Our exam was purely essay questions too.

Yikes! Your history teacher was being a toad. The entire Civil War? An hour-long exam? Get real. 2 hours sounds more reasonable. It looks like we're both being victimized by teachers this time around. >.>

I wish mine had been essay-questions. I have a way with words where I can sound as though I know a helluva lot more about a subject than what I actually do. The language of total bull really comes through for me sometimes: there was one short-answer question about cell-size limitations on my exam, and even though I only halfway understood what I was talking about I still got 4 out of the 5 points possible for it.

Even if the professor doesn't listen, it would still be a good idea to talk to her. Explain your concerns (even if you have already done this) because she may give you some ideas on how to study for the next exam. I know that as stubborn as you are, you will probably ignore this advice, but remember, nothing ventured nothing gained. Also remember that University classes are two to three times bigger than community college classes, so the professor is spread much thinner. Never assume that she doesn't care, just state your case more clearly. Good luck.

Don't beat yourself over a grade. No one's perfect. I maintain my grade above 70 with the occasional 65 which is a D.

History is easy and so is biology which I pass with flying colors last year that is.

So your sis is moving in with you? Now, you don't have to be lonely and depressed all the time since you have your best friend living with you. :D
