Ok I opened up the book Live Longer - And Enjoy It! published in 1956 to a random page. This random page began with a Summary of Ch. 15.

Use of Tobacco:

I think tobacco was considered a healthy choice back in the 50s. Also that whole stopping on your own because it's aggraviting something is easier said then done. You know, cuza the whole ridiculously addicting part.

and... unless he's talking about 100% alcohol, then yes, that is barely any at all

I read somewhere credible that the pope at one point in history denounced snuff because it caused people to sneeze, and sneezing is like an orgasm, and therefore sinful.

Why wasn't that in this books?
