I find it amazing that in this technologically advanced 21st century that we live in, someone would try to off a political candidate with poison.

Maybe I'm just used to the American version of politics, filled with mudslinging and large sums of cash.

that whole part of the world got left behind somehow. they're really third world countries masquerading as ...not. i guess it doesn't baffle me at all because i entirely expect that sort of thing out of eastern europe/the former republics.
