Wait a Minute. You mean, there is MORE?!

Yes, there is more on Shelley's history. I know it sounds crazy, I mean, the dude's been dead for more than 180 years now but still... oh ok, fine, I own up to it: I'm doing this only because I enjoy libelling Keats' good name, and I want to cheer over the awesome Trelawny, so there. It's said.

Jeez.

Anyway, here's the next installment...

An Abridged History of Shelley: part III )

Shelley was rather sensitive and over dramatic... I'm sure he did indeed faint!
Thank you so much for sharing this.
Adore the pictures... :)

Don't you just LOVE Shelley's drama? I know I do. He was not just an incredible writer, and rather really pretty, he also suffered from sensational fits of sublimity!

I'm sorry, he makes me squeel so inaproprietly :D

Thanks for commenting and I'm very glad you liked the post.

The more inappropriate squealing there is at Shelley's expense the better, and all the more fun!
We just moved into an old country cottage near the lake... I can't wait to fix up the roll top desk and hang my pictures of Shelley & Mary & their friends/lovers up. :)

because I enjoy libelling Keats' good name
;___; there are few things that make me happier than rampant Keats bashing. I really like to think that the greater part of his day was spent just staring at pottery and crying himself to sleep at night because he wasn't an ancient Greek.

And Mary, WHO IS MISSING HER REAL HUSBAND, BYRON wholyl miserable.

Byron's Single Manly Tear!
Just. YES.

I daresay we ought to be friends. |: I don't have many outlets to freak out over these ,s>somehow famous pretty idiots wonderful, brilliant people.

My new friend, allow me to hug you cybernetically and welcome you to my world of crazy where, yes, Keats Will Be Bashed, Trelawny Drooled Upon, Byron Remains Hot and Most Emotionally Constipated, and... well, you get the drift.

I'm SO friending you! :D Whee.

ps. Is it wrong of me to want a t-shirt of your icon? I think it'd be awesome.

We. Are going to get along just swimmingly, I can already tell but not Shelley since HE CAN'T SWIIIIM OOOOOPS.

And in turn, welcome to my world where Byron puts PETA to shame, steals other people's kids, is apparently a date rapist, Mary's real husband, and 1/2 of my ultimate OTP (which is of course Byron/Augusta |: a.k.a, complete canon) and Shelley's one true goal in life was to be the best lifeguard ever.

IT'S NOIT, because I would want it, too. ;__; There are so many Emilie Autumn songs I would wear as shirts.

Saying hello as I have not done so recently.
It has been very rainy here near the lake... I wonder if this is what it felt like the summer of 1816 for the Shelley Circle?

Hope you are well.
Drop me a comment soon. :)

he believed that Shelley used his poetry to offer emotion without thought; that he rather surrender to hypnotic images than try to find any real reference; in short, that he was too fanciful and passionate. What irks me the wrong way is that he said all this as if it were a flaw.

Ha! The same Keats who Byron accused of writing poetry with one hand?

Yup, Byron was quite the snarky bastard. Hmm, could it have been a little bit of jealously as well? Hee.

Glad you liked my queer reading of Shelley's life and circle *wink*

They can't reasonably be read any other way! If they don't like it they shouldn't have been quite as ardent and pretty and frilly-shirted.

This is a picture of him by a great and inspired annonymous artist, at the time:

My god. That was brilliant.
