Despite the long journey it took to get to Sirius and Remus together, this story made me feel really good because it's all about love in all its variations: Tonks and Remus, and their daughter too, Tonks and Sirius, Sirius and Remus, James and Lily and Sirius and Remus, Sirius and his daughter. And then the way the four of them came together at the end and you know the love is just going to grow that much more. Really lovely.

Thanks so much for the kind comment--I generally tend to focus on the tragic aspect of things, so I'm glad I was able to spread a little happiness here!

Wonderful story! Again, you took a lovely piece of art - that seemed to tell a very speciic story - and took it someplace unique and different. It was AU in the very best way and all the changes you made (Tonks being just three years younger, Tonks going after Peter, etc.) really worked. Best of all, though, were the feelings that you allowed the characters too feel. The subtle pathos and emotions were quite clear and felt very real. This was not about over-the-top emotions, but the real and quiet heartbreak that feels as if it can kill a person if they do not accept it.
And then James and Lily were killed, and Sirius was sent to Azkaban, and nothing much mattered anymore. That broke me heart, but it felt very real and true ( ... )

Thanks so much for the wonderful review, and the rec! I had a really hard time getting started on the story, because I just didn't know where to go with it--I had never really thought of Sirius and Remus as having children, and I didn't know how to fit it into canon. But then escribo mentioned the idea of an AU and Sirius and Remus coming together as single parents, and that helped me find my idea.

I'm so glad you liked Tonks here--I have always had mixed feelings about her because I loved her in Book 5 but then hated her in 6 & 7, mainly because she seemed to lose the fun and independent spirit she had in Book 5--and also because I could never imagine Remus with anyone but SIrius. Writing her just a bit younger than the boys and having her understand how much Remus loves Sirius--so much so that her final act was something that allowed them to come back together--helped me find her voice, as least as I saw it. So I'm glad it worked for you.

Thanks again for the detailed comments and the kind rec--both made my day!

Exactly. When we first met her in OotP, my friend Troy and I loved her. Granted, we also pegged her for a lesbian, but we thought it was awesome that Rowling had created a strong, young female character. But then she went and ruined it by making Tonks pine for a gay man someone who could not love her back. Meh! What a tired old trope. It might as well be Twilight. LOL.

I didn't think I'd like this, but it was really well written. I loved the relationship between Remus and Tonks, because it's exactly as I imagine it was in the books, too. Sirius was a bit of a surprise, trying to settle down after being released, but it suited him. I think it was great that neither Remus nor Tonks believed Sirius betrayed James and Lily. And Sirius naming his daughter after both of them was unexpectedly sweet. <3

It's funny--I didn't think I'd like it either when I first started trying to write it : ) But I finally found a way to approach the story that felt right, so I'm glad it felt right to you too. Thanks for reading and commenting, despite your initial reservations!

This is cute... I liked Tonks in this (if R/T had to be in the books I wish it had been more like this! I actually could have gotten behind it if so) and it's so cute that they had a little girl named Theodora, nicknamed Dora ^^ I liked how Sirius and Remus individually had time to grow and that they now have the chance to grow together. Those two little girls will make great sisters. Also, this fic fit the cute art well.

Thanks for the kind comments--especially saying that you would like to have seen the relationship portrayed this way in the books--that is a high compliment that I truly appreciate!

I like that you show how they could have come together, how Remus and Tonks both believed in him. I think you translate the artwork quite well, and it's such a lovely, moving story.

Thanks so much, for the kind comments and for getting me started. You really did help me find my idea here; I'm so glad it ended up working! As much as I lean toward tragedy at times, it was a good challenge for me to try to write a happy ending, one where Remus never lost faith in Sirius, and Tonks could play a different role.
