He put a hand under the surface and ran his palm over Remus's foot and ankle. Affection given out of sight, as always. It wasn't fair to Remus, who deserved someone who would love him openly, but Sirius-brash and unashamed as he was about wrestling or hugging his mates-had started the relationship as a secret from the world, and the hidden touches had become habit.

That actually broke my heart a little and brought a tear to my eye. Poor, broken Sirius.

Now they hadn't had sex in months, and Sirius knew he pulled away from Remus in his sleep, when they managed to sleep in bed together.

Again, tears. It's so sad that they seem to be falling apart and helpless to stop it.

Carefully, he moved and turned in the water, fitting himself between legs that spread for him, against a chest that felt warm against him-warm from more than just the heat of the water but also from the undeniable ache of familiarity ( ... )

You've really captured a sense of stillness and yet their entire loves are being thrown upside down at the same time. I really got a sense of the conflict between them wanting to try and sort their relationship and being afraid of what happens if they try and bring anything out into the open.

Gah, just gorgeous and such a brilliant piece to go with epithalamium's art.
