If you want to do something to reinforce your nails, you might want to try just the powder and gel, without a wrap or tip or anything like that. In my experience, it looks more real and grows out better.
And for some reason I don't think it'd be hard to find good chili in Texas :P
Believe it or not, the best Texas chili I've had is here in the DC area. www.hardtimes.com
Luckily, you can order the seasoning packets and make it yourself. I use ground up kidney beans instead of kidney suet (hehe) so my version is less fatty and has a pastier texture than theirs, but it is still really good.
Hubby took me to the Austin Chili Parlor which is supposedly spectacular and it was truly inedible. It tasted and smelled like dog food, I kid you not.
Regarding the nails - is that something they'd do in a salon? I am totally incompetent with nails. I usually get diamond nails, because I break the regular acrylics too easily and solar nails really do look fake I think.
Interesting...I know nothing about chili...but if I had to think of a place for chili, it'd be Texas...or New Mexico.
And yeah, I don't do my nails myself, but when I used to get them done and got sick of all the tips and wraps and shits my manicurist suggested just using the gel and powder, as a sort of lite alternative.
Actually I get them very short (just barely past the finger tips) so they don't affect my typing at all.
gina_r_snape is right about taking them off, they were a mess for a couple months the last time I took them off. Of course, the idea is not to take them off... and my nails are really thin and pathetic already. *sigh*
Nails - after the move is better, in case you break one moving boxes, etc. Color, something not too bold (like blue or purple), but a nice mauve or a nuetral shade would probably go w/ more...
Food - why no Chinese on the list? Or pizza? Or is it true that they can't make good pizza outside the midwest? *grin*
;) The pizza here in VA is pretty mediocre. I usually end up getting Uno's or Papa Johns. Back in Austin there is some really good Chicago style pizza at Mangia, but really the best pizza in the U.S. is in New Haven
Nails. Do it now, especially if you keep them short. Feeling floofy will add enjoyment to your vacation. And repairs are cheap, if you need some after the move.
I almost told you to have easy mac for lunch (even though it is 10:30 pm right now). If you have easy mac and add a 3 oz tuna to it, it is tastier and closer to a balanced meal! yum. That's my current fave for cheap and quick meal.
