As if I weren't already grumpy...

Nov 28, 2005 21:00

the batteries on the guest room fire alarm are apparently dead because the alarm is chirping.

This means, I either have to put up with Mr. Shags' snoring or the alarm chirping all bloody night long.

I could go buy batteries, but we have 12 foot ceilings and we don't have a tall ladder.

AAAARGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!

There's a really good kind of earplugs they make - soft foam that you compress, insert into your ear, then they expand to block out all sorts of noises. I use them when Fred snores, and they're great. Just make sure your alarm clock is very loud, otherwise you'll sleep right through it.

Good luck! *pets and empathizes*

Problem is... I already use those.

They don't block Mr. Shags on a bad night. *sigh*
But I think the chirping stopped at least. The batteries must have gone from "mostly dead" to "all dead".

*phew*

Dang, Mr. Shags must be loud! Well, glad to hear the chirping has gone away. Now let's borrow a really tall ladder and consider mounting that smoke alarm someplace a little more accessible before the next time, okay? ;) *snigs*

hehe, we live in an apartment - we don't get a choice on where to mount the fire alarm!

Take the battery out. Sure it won't do a damned thing to warn you against a fire, but better to sleep tonight and fix it (straight away) tomorrow.

Sorry. I take it back and I'll take my noodle lashings.. you already explained this with the high ceilings.
