I'm having a bad case of deja vu here

For some reason I've never seen Moonlight before, but had heard good things. Well, now that I'm finally watching, I can't help but notice all the similarities to another series. Let's see:

- A vampire detective living in Los Angeles? Sounds familiar.

- One who is rather unhappy with his current exsistence and wouldn't mind being human again? Check.

- His sire was much older and used to be a whore? Check.

- He killed her a while ago, but now she's back and breathing again? Yeah, this is ringing some bells.

- His current loveinterest is a young blonde woman he had been stalkingwatching over for some time before she consciously meets him? Check.

- He tries to keep his distance "for her own good" while she doesn't care about the fangs? Definitely heard that one before.

- At some point he gets the chance to be human again, but gives that up in order to save his girl? Check.

- The song We are the lucky ones by Alison Kraus is played over an emotional moment between the roamtic leads? Now you are making it way too easy for me.

I'm sorry Moonlight, but you are a blatant rip-off of Angel the Series and Joss just did it better. How did you ever manage to get greenlighted with that much obvious theft"inspiration" going on?
