Delhi Blasts NDTV reports. And apparently the US Embassy had warned about terrorist attacks 2 weeks ago. Reuters here.
Interestingly, there's been a high alert issued in Gujarat, scene of last major communal riots.
I was talking to one of my friends, and he had left the Sarojini market area 10 minutes before the blast, and was near his car when the blasts struck. Strangely, cell phone service was done, and his family was worried to death till he finally showed up. I know this sounds selfish, but I hope my friends are safe (my family wrote to me, and I forbade them to step out of the house and go to these market places..yay for house arrests.) This is so insane. Its not like these blasts will solve anything. These areas are occupied by people of all religions, and Diwali and Eid coincide this year. I dont know what twisted logic made the people who planned these blasts think it was a good idea. Did they think Kashmir will be given a sovereign status? Or that India will appease Pakistan? Or that India will stop politically allying with the US? Or, jeez, I cant even think anymore.
