Sometimes I hate humans

When I woke up this morning I saw that there was something on top of our canoe in the backyard. I wen t outside to investigate and found a bird on its back totally intact except it was decapitated. It didn't look like an animal attack, totally has me creeped out

I would look to cats or raccoons… but I totally hate humans all the time soo.!

We do have a stray I feed, I hope it was responsible. I am kinda worried about the cat's safety if not. It was a big bird though and I'm not sure the cat could have jumped that far with it in his mouth (the bird was prolly 3/4 the size of the cat) and it was clean no feather out of place nothing. Here's to hoping though!

Possibly an airplane strike? I've seen decapitated birds from them flying into the propeller. I've also seen birds that had no visible damage whatsoever laying dead on the runway. Just a thought!
But it is okay to hate humans sometimes; I do too occassionally! :-)
