one thing that sets you guys apart is the length of your songs. who does that, mainly? is it a whole band decision? im not trying to knock it, i just wonder.

I dunno. Usually we don't plan on writing a long song. We just write until we feel like it's complete. The only time we ever make a conscious effort regarding length is when we try to write shorter songs. Our newer songs are considerably shorter and were/are an experiment in writing for the song as opposed to writing parts.

We also aren't a hardcore band, so there's no need to write songs under 2 minutes long. Haha.

Our newer stuff is pretty much death metal though.

yeah dude. there's still breakdowns (less of the spoon-fed mosh stuff) and a handful of ESPN riffs but for the most part the new direct is pretty much just to sound pissed.
