that's the a-league for you - we can't expect to keep players of Fred's calibre on the wages we pay! MLS is an equivilent league to a-league, but the cash is through the roof!

I guess with the salary cap restrictions, most players don't want to sign more than one or two years because it's likely that after the a-league exposure they will get better paying opportunities. As long as they keep increasing it (and maybe have more than one marquee player per club) things will be good
