Which is worse?

After a poet dies, it is discovered that he was an amazing success. His name is known across the county, by the general public. His wife nor the poet had any idea. The poet's brother kept them in the dark and kept 95% of the profits. Which is worse - the betrayal by the brother or dieing believing you were mediocre with only one mildly successful

I'd say the latter, but I'm a Leo, and I would.

I'm inclined to believe that the betrayal is the worse of the two. Writers, (including poets,) write because they must. For many it doesn't matter whether or not they achieve fame and fortune: it's the process of creation/expression that compels them.

The betrayal by the brother. I would hope that the poet found other things in life, in addition to poetry that gave him joy, but to have your fucking brother do that shit to you is unforgivable.
