What about this rumour? I haven't been here for a while so I didn't get to read anything. What's happening? And WHY???

they won't close. LJ just sent an email about it. Media mess things up as usual.

I think the current owner has only put LJ for sale. Since LJ has been sold twice in recent past, I still think probably someone else will buy it. Maybe the rumors started, because Six Apart the previous owner had closed down some other services of theirs. I'm not quite aware is Six Apart as a whole part of the current owner, or is the new owner not linked to SA but known for closing down other services too. Sorry I can't point exact links - I gathered this information by reading last pages of comments in LJ News-posts and links spread there, and commentaries on those links, some of which were for other blogging systems.
