:-/ I hope you can figure out a good place to go. I've had chiropractors work on my hips before (and my feet! that feels weird...), and I'm pretty sure most of them do. The focus is on the backs because that's where most people hurt. I'm just not confident enough to guarantee anything, even based on my past experiences. It was my last chiropractor who did awesome things with my sciatica, in fact, and at this point would only trust a chiropractor because I'm afraid other doctors would recommend surgery.
It is at least very reassuring to know that they'll work on hip joints as well. Because I know that chiropractors /do/ do physical manipulation of joints, which is precisely what I need right now. *sigh* Now I just need to find one... ;) And they have a much more realistic view, the last thing I need is someone telling me I need a surgical reduction of the joint, there's no way I could afford that and there's no way I'd do it even if I could - closed reductions work just fine, especially on a joint that's only subluxated, and there are way too many other risks associated with surgery.
I appreciate the thought, anyway. These are the times I hate living alone - I have this deep-seated (and very inappropriate, according to our society) need to be cared for and comforted when something is massively wrong. Which, needless to say, doesn't happen when there's nobody around and it's the middle of the night so you can't really call anyone either or anything. So even LJ comments help some. ;)
