I pushed myself back to third call priority today (usually I'm first on Thursdays) because of the pain I've been having, so I didn't get called in, which meant I could go. Turns out that tonight was also an open house at the facility, and I learned about all the ( Read more... )

Steam rooms are even more comfortable, in my experience, because the steam hides a multitude of sins. Of course I like them better than saunas too 'cause I'd prefer to be steamed than baked :-)

Yeah - next time, I'mma bring my own towels, one of which is actually large enough to wrap around my fat, so I can wander over and try the steam room. :) Round about the time I left the sauna, part of why I left was that the air was starting to feel difficult to breathe. And I've had the same problem when I've been in the desert. I think my Portland-adapted lungs are just used to moisture in the air. ;) And my face was starting to feel sunburned - the skin there has been getting pretty dry over the last year or so, it's interesting. And annoying.

Too bad you weren't there, though, Foxy - one of the guys in there was pretty cute... (though married, but still, one can look, yes?)

I know... my smarter side is saying I really ought not to go. I did a couple of plies in my living room, though, and they didn't hurt - so activating the turnout muscles (which is what I was most worried about) isn't likely to be a major problem. I'm going to play it by ear. It's almost 11, class isn't until 3, and my anti-inflammatory dose is just starting to wear off, so I'll have a clearer idea in a few hours of just where I stand in terms of pain and mobility.

He wouldn't give me a clear yea or nay on ballet - but he was all for me going to yoga, anyway. And I usually get to chat with Diana after yoga, though it's still not the same as getting to be in (a VERY small) class with her for an hour. ;)

(I'm just as in love with her as the kids are - not sure whether to worry or laugh about that)
