Especially since a) scholars agree that Jesus was actually born in the spring, so Christmas was placed around the winter solstice to compete with various pagan holidays, and b) pretty much all of the American Christmas traditions come from those same pagan holidays. Though of course most devout Christians have absolutely no clue about any of that.
