Woo hoo, free booze!

*ahem*

That is, hey look, I have a christmas present! :) Thank you so much, arethinn - this stuff is *amazing*. So much richer and more complex than any other mead I've had.

Also, holiday treats for kitties in the way of a box and some styrofoam blocks to attack! They're having a ball. ;)

SWEET! I've never had mead. I think I'll try some this year. I know of some sources.

A friend of mine made a drink the other day that tasted for all the world, of APPLE PIE. It's made of apple juice, Everclear, steeped with cinnamon sticks and a "secret ingredient". I won't ask. All I know is it was GOOOOOOD. Very smooth, and woulda knocked me on my keister had I had more than a sip.

Oh man, that sounds amazing!

You can usually get mead at Belmont Station, though this particular one is local to Sunnyvale, so they probably won't carry it. I do love the Honey Run meads they have there, though. Hmm. I think that's the name of the winery... haven't gotten any in about 6 months, so I may have it wrong. arethinn sent me some Rabbit's Foot.

Yep, Honey Run. They're in Chico. I like theirs okay, especially the Elderberry which is a rare type, but I prefer Rabbit's Foot's plain varieties.

LOL - I haven't had Honey Run's plain, but I have had the elderberry and it's *fabulous*. Also had a fabulous marionberry, but it was a different meadery and I can't recall the name. Something local. Got the both of them at Belmont Station anyway.

Inquiring minds want to know, what sort of mead is it?

Rabbit's Foot, from a meadery in Sunnyvale. :)

Ah, yes. Not far away from me. Their stuff is pretty good. They make an excellent black cherry cider.

Glad you all are enjoying it! I like their dry mead more than their sweet, but he doesn't have room to bottle it these days, I think was the story (they bought a new bottler which turned out to be bad, and the old one is taken up mainly with sweet).
