fully translatable from psp to ps etc. (others probably too)

make a base and color it however you want. i'm just going to show you how to make it bnw with a splash of color again. remember when making a base and coloring it that you should have something in the image to focas on.

base.

2.after your base is colored like you want it, flatten it. (psp: layers > merge all (flatten)(ps: layer > flatten image)
3.duplicate that layer.
4.(ps users) add a black and white gradient layer. layer > new fill layer > gradient > ok > pick the bnw one (set at 100%)
(psp users) desarate your layer. adjust > hue saturation > hue saturation lightness (set at -100%)
- you might want to spice up the bnw layer with some curves or brightness and contrast. thats up to you.
5. you should have one colored layer and one bnw layer now. zoom in on the bnw layer and with a small soft brush (hardness about 50 %) erase the bnw from the part of the image you want to be color again.
6. dont flatten yet. for the grainy look add some noise.
(ps users) filter > noise > add noise (set at about 8 or higher. uniform. monocromatic)
(psp users) adjust > add remove noise > add noise (same settings)

fin.

try different variations, like adding a grungy texture instead (but u may want to erase the texture from the colored part). add brushes or text if you want to. be creative.

others.
