I love the fact that you counted how many seconds since will's FOOT left the screen (very precise)! HAHA. If it were anyone other than Will, they would have seen him, but Will + wood = good. He just blends into the forest with his beloved trees. (He's built kind of like a large sapling if you think about it, and wearing all brown.)
Well I... his foot left after his voice did, so.... oh I don't know. *hides* And thank you very much, you've now given me the image of Will in a mime class, being a tree.
'I would like that… very much’ I assume we’re meant to take from that that that’s (read it again, it’ll make sense) how Much got his rather unusual name?
Oh, nice thought! That hadn't occurred to me. I love it though, very nice etymologising :D
that ‘last man’ thing, I don’t understand. How do you know that the last man really is the last man?
I forgot to mention the last man thing, oops. It's one of my favourite concepts (I think it sort of makes sense, in that any group of people tends to have a slow one at the back who lags behind), I do wish they'd kept it in the scripts later on! Will have to remember to mention it next week :)
Whenever I see the bit where Much puts Robin’s furs around his shoulders I always think of Mrs Miggins in Blackadder - ‘Ooh, it’s real cat, isn’t it?’
*rofl*
When did those guards get hold of Much? And without Robin noticing? Tsk.
I know! He doesn't look after him at all, does he? And then he doesn't do anything whatsoever to save him either.
Is it Allan, Will, Benedict then Luke in order of who is
( ... )
Oh, nice thought! That hadn't occurred to me. I love it though, very nice etymologising :D Hehe. Well, I always thought it's an odd sorta name so it must've come from somewhere... I thought that in 2x12 as well, when he's saying 'Much talks too much, eats too much, worries too much...'. And I like etymology.. when naming characters I often go here (hope that worked!) to find something suitable (did it for a couple of characters in s4 already ;) ) He doesn't look after him at all, does he? And then he doesn't do anything whatsoever to save him either. I know! After all Much does for Robin... and he knew what would happen to Much if he played up but he still went ahead. I think the last two are shot down simultaneously though I always thought that but there is a couple of seconds between them; I think Robin has both the arrows in his hand but fires them one after the other for those two. I love you :) Haha, because I'm so obsessive I actually did count?
Oh wow, thank you for that link! I adore etymology, so I'm now going to spend hours looking round that :D
I wonder whether Much has another given name, if Much is something he's been called later on because of his habits...
Aw, they don't have Much in that database. I guess the Much of the Robin Hood legend is the only attestation of it... I'd really like to know if it is hapax, but can't be bothered looking it up right now :)
Haha, because I'm so obsessive I actually did count?
I love Much pulling those branches. Nice to see them having sneaky little tricks and that even before the aid of Will’s fancy gadgets
You're right, that's pretty cool. It's also one of those things that makes me wonder whether the writers wrote the first episode and then made the rest of it up as they went along. For example, maybe Will wasn't meant to be engineer of the group, but they made him the man with the plan in one episode, and just ran with the idea after that.
(I also wonder if 1x01 is the only episode of the first two series the writers of S3 watched...so they assumed Much could rig up that arrow machine, and didn't bother to mention Will at all...*sigh*)
Is it Allan, Will, Benedict then Luke in order of who is shot down? Irrelevant I know, I just wondered.
Serious attention to detail. Go you! Btw, I've always wondered what happened to Benedict after this. *ponders*
Ok, so I counted: it’s 30 seconds between the time we see Will’s foot disappear from screen as he goes off to get kindling, and when we hear Roy shout ‘

For example, maybe Will wasn't meant to be engineer of the group, but they made him the man with the plan in one episode, and just ran with the idea after that. ooh, very possibly... because they do muck around with the legends and that don't they, and Will isn't traditionally mr fix-it. (I also wonder if 1x01 is the only episode of the first two series the writers of S3 watched...so they assumed Much could rig up that arrow machine, and didn't bother to mention Will at all...*sigh*) also very possible... pfft. Yeah I wondered about Benedict! Because surely he couldn't just go back to his old life... Luke and Dan went off to stay with an aunt in Loughborough or somewhere didn't they? Maybe Benedict went with them. Oh that's a very interesting second point, I hadn't thought of that! Because Allan's apparantly from Rochdale (no matter what he might say to try and get out of prison!) and Much and Robin have been away for a few years now. A very good point!

Exactly :) Not many people would be so thorough!
