You know, I was never really impressed with McConaughey when he started acting. I understand why a lot of people find him attractive, but he's not my cup of tea, and I was never really impressed with his acting.
That's changed, however. During the past year, I've watched several of his smaller movies, and... Yes. You, Sir, have impressed me.
I'm not sure why I watched The Lincoln Lawyer, but I did. And I found I quite liked this mature, settled actor who appeared on screen. I watched Killer Joe, and pretty much all of the performances were impressive. The movie itself left me scratching my head - it didn't quite convey it's "point" very well, in my mind - but the performance was stellar. Tried to watch Magic Mike, but couldn't sit through it. The mood and feel of the film just didn't do it for me. Not even the dance scenes could hold my interest (I actually turned it off in the middle of the first big one). Just watched Mud, purely because he was in it, and once again, I was surprised by and quite enjoyed his performance.
Kudos to you, Mr. McConaughey. Kudos.
