Ok, maybe he's not a horcrux. In book 6 it says Voldemort is the last part that has to die of his 7 horcruxes. That would mean someone else has to kill Voldemort, but who would be powerful enough. Snape? Maybe Kreacher is a horcrux. haha Of course in book 6 Dumblebore thinks he know what all the horcruxes are but I dont think he's acurate.

I've wondered about the mirror that Sirius gives Harry in OoP..
In terms of having one left to go when Voldemort killed Harry's parents, it seems like the murder of Harry would have been the one he wanted to use to make his 7th horcrux, and since he didn't actually kill Harry, he wouldn't have been able to make the horcrux.. as to whether he could have then been able to make the horcrux using the part of his soul from killing his mother or father, I don't know what the time frame on that sort of thing is ;)

Is it possible that Nagini became his 7th when he killed the Riddle's housekeeper at the beginning of 4?

well in book 6 right before dumbledore and harry go off to get the horcrux dumbledore says off hand that he thinks they can rule out the snake. so its really

i saw that when i reread it last night, but i read it again and it seemed to me like he was telling harry that the one they were retrieving that night wasn't the snake..
