I just had a lovely salad with butter leaf lettuce. I have come to the conclusion that iceberg lettuce is teh suck. The butter leaf was very crisp and had a nice, subtle flavor. Even the chunks were enjoyable, and I usually pick around those in an iceberg salad. If I had known about this alternative lettuce earlier I think I would have eaten a lot

Iceberg is nice once in a while, I think the crunch is perfect for certain salad applications e.g. taco salads. However, overall I'm more of a spring mix girl. Or romaine. Or baby spinach. Or curly leaf lettuce. Mmm salad :D
