I got accepted to Dalhousie law school.

With a $2000 scholarship.

Holy shit, I'm going to law school next year. I'm going to have a law degree. I'm going to be a lawyer. I might very conceivably be living in Halifax.

My mom cried on the phone when she told me, she was so happy.

I don't think this has quite sunk in yet.

aaawww k here is the thing though... the combination of the 9 billion things i have to do on friday to get ready to go to ottawa, plus this potluck at my professor's that i can't get out of that is really far away from where you live, plus the fact i have to be at work at 8:30 the next morning with all my shit for the next week... i think adding trying to get to this show is going to tip the scale over into not doable. which TOTALLY sucks... but when i get back, we WILL go out, and there will be celebration. probably not much biblical-themed burlesque though. unless we make our own.

fuck man... i DID fight it... hard. and i really hope i'm making the right decision and not being a "sell out." but while lawyers do a lot of shitty things, they also do some really cool, really important things: and i think as long as i keep in mind that doing important good things is more important than money, it will work out ok.

im feeling the sell out image alot with wanting to be a vet. its hard to sit in lectures where they are talking about finances and salary and how vetes undercharge when i think back to all the times ive had people yell about their bill....and really we are all here because we love animals (or at least i hope thats why we are are all here!)

You are totally right about just remembering why you are there/here in the first place...and then i think the money thing will just fall into place. you are going to be a super important lawyer defending the things you feel are important and we all know that! if you find you arent doing that...then take time off/try a different form of lawyerism (is that a word?) there are so many options out there, dont get hooked up on just the crooked ones we read about in the news.

(this was probably the most grammatically incorrect reply ever...but i have thoughts of cows and horses dancing in my head! dam exams....)
