Quatre/Heero for
tdei Quatre had found in the last few days that he liked the dark. Very much so. It was easier to travel through the dark where no one else could see him, no one else could bother him. And with his senses enhanced, the darkness became more than a hindrance... it was a beautiful cloak.

Mission?
He liked the numbers. He liked the clarity he had the last few days, since having escaped the doctors who were holding him under observation. He could see so many infinite possibilities for every action he took, could anticipate every action of every person he came across.
But it wasn't enough. He knew it wasn't enough. Zero wasn't at top shape, its performance hindered by his own brain. His mind. Quatre didn't like that. Trowa had told him once when the other boy was visiting him in the hospital that it was because Quatre wasn't meant to think like that. That the Zero system was altering who Quatre was, was changing him from someone kind to someone very cold.
Kindness... processing.

Mission?
Quatre didn't like the thought that he (and Zero system) was being changed. Zero wasn't at its best performance, because Quatre's mind wasn't fully compatible with it. He loved the numbers, loved the clarity. Quatre reveled in the infinite possibilities in his grasp, knowing that he could change the future to whatever suited his fancies because he would know how to create a situation he desired. The Zero system was designed to complete missions with the lowest error rate possible.
But his mission was peace. Even the Zero system knew that. And peace had long been achieved already.
Mission?
Which was why he had broken out of the hospital, the one with the nice (but stupid) doctors. The Zero System needed a mission, and although Quatre loved the system, it drove him mad with its need.
So Quatre would give it an answer. He would find Heero Yuy, the one the Zero system had been designed for. Somehow... somehow he would be able to get into Heero's head, be able to figure out how to use Zero and configure his own mind to work at its best.
He knew where the other man lived. He knew the workplace, knew his habits. Quatre had been a very dear friend to Heero, after all, although the other man had never visited him in the hospital. Possibly because Heero knew what Quatre was thinking... Heero had been with Zero the longest, after all, and was the one who could think like Zero, think with Zero.

Mission?
His mission? Quatre would find Heero, observe Heero, study Heero. With Zero, Quatre wouldn't be caught. He would find a way to utilize Zero through Heero, would find a way to dissect Heero's thoughts and wean his way into Heero's life.
Heero was meticulous, though. Quatre would have to be careful.
But that was okay, Quatre thought as he slipped into the darkness outside Heero's apartment, his blue eyes wide and focused intently on the window on the third floor. He would have to move slowly, would have to find the cracks in Heero's defense in order to get close to the other boy.
But that's alright. Quatre was patient, after all. And with Zero, Quatre already knew what would happen.
