I need to purge a little and Twitter is not the place for it.
I was so looking forward to this, I took the day off work to live stream it, and honestly it was totally worth it. I cried right from "Sit Down" at the start and was bawling on and off throughout.
When Kurt didn't get into NYADA I just shouted "FUCK OFF"!! How could they do that? How after what seemed like a perfect audition did they not let him in? We know his application was weak, but really? Anyway my only take is that the writers really do hate Kurt (or Chris) and my theory that Ryan doesn't like people who turn out to be more sucessful than his show stands.
The sting however is that really there was no answers for anyone. Rachel got her dream. Fantastic, I'm happy about that I wanted her to get in, but really there were no answers there either. She and Finn has split and I didn't like that much even though I'm not really a Finchel fan. However Finn suddenly joinging the army? WHA?? Then we have Santana just going to NYC on her college fun with no plan no nothing? We all thought it was going to be Finn, Kurt and Rachel in NYC, now it looks like it's Rachel, Santana and Mercedes? Okay.....
No answers for the others either really. So do we assume that Puck is going to go to Cali and clean pools? Kurt is going to do what exactly? Did he even apply to other schools? Is he going to work in the shop with his dad? Quinn I guess we assume she's just off to Yale with the odd visit to Rachel or visa versa? Okay....
I guess I just expected answers. I wanted to know what was in store for next season. How is this going to work? Who are we going to see? What is the talk that's been spouted about Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson mentoring Kurt and Rachel? is this just a load of bullship spun to keep us intersted? I just don't get the choices the writers made?
Please do not misunderstand me, I acutally liked everything right up to when they opened their letters. I was loving what they were doing and felt that they were setting everyone up so I would get a nice ribbon at the end telling me who was where and what I should expect next season... I'm just a little hurt that I didn't get that. I'm mostly heartbroken that onece again Kurt got shot down and was not given any sort of success.
I'm use to open endings... I'm still a QAF fan, but this felt less open and more just stopped. Like they ran out of time or something. Was there more filmed? Were the ends tied up a little better but were lost in the editing?
You know what, this season finale is going to lend itself to a lot of fanfic, so I guess that's a blessing... I'll be on the look out for some top quality post-322 gapfillers to take me to next season....
Right this minute though, I'm not sure I'm that excited for next season.... :-(
Okay, I think I've ranted enough. I suspect when Steph sees the ep she will read this and have had a completely different take on things and will open my mind a bit, but right now in this instance after just one viewing I'm sitting here a little heartbroken.....
....I'm off work, I think I'll go shopping
