Reason One:
Amanda Tapping.
That's reason one. I mean seriously. She is the queen of sci-fi and all should bow down before her. Her character Helen Magnus is just so amazing I can't even express. Amanda is one of the most talented actresses I've ever seen, I adored her in Stargate (SG-1&Atlantis) and Sanctuary is no different.
Reason Two:
The Unique Characters.
Its a little known fact that everyone and their dog has vampires in their story lines now-a-days. Thanks to the "Twilight" Phenomenon, Vampires are everywhere. But what other show has vampires, teleporters, werewolves, mermaids, and bigfoot? That's right. There isn't one.
Reason Three:
Humorous Lines.
Sanctuary has the same kind of humor that the Stargate Series has. Its a little bit of serious with a little bit of humor thrown in. Lines like:"That was like James Bond/Die Hard Cool". I mean really? Its lines like that that just make you giggle.
Reason Four:
Amazing Guest Stars.
Even when Sanctuary was just a Web-Series. It still had great guest stars. Lets face it, part of the reason to start watching a show is to see if the series warrants amazing guest stars the first few seasons. And to me, my little Stargate Fangirl heart goes crazy in this series.
Reason Five:
Kick-Ass Female Characters.
The Feminist in me kicks into this. Helen, Ashley, and Kate are the real heroes (heroines) of the series. The male characters mainly end up shooting when the girls aren't around, hiding, or finding some technological way to defeat them. Not that the Men of the series don't rock, because they do. I just find it amazing that the female characters are the ones who wear the gun toting pants.
