Absolutely. Romance is so unusual for the Doctor, but it just comes naturally with Rose. When someone points it out to him, the unnaturalness of it hits him and he panics. I love it!

Awww!! Loved loved loved the scene with Mal/Inara... those two! They're just so stubborn. I'm sure we would have eventually seen something exactly like this had the show continued. Also, love that Mal is starting to bend. Now if only Inara was willing to meet him halfway... but at least we got a smooch! :D

Yes, Inara is someone who lives for her work. Being a Companion is more of a lifestyle choice than a job. It's everything. But more than work obsession, it's fear- you're totally right.

I... I'm not sure whether to be super happy because the Doctor and Rose are just adorable and because Mal and Inara finally talked (and kissed), or really heartcrushed because SHE'S STILL LEAVING. My heart... it is so sad...

Seriously, though. I just love the way you wrote this chapter. You had me hanging on every word.
