Waffle cones! THE TIE! Pigs! Cassandra! Heehee protection... heeheehee.
Conclude this with a fangirl-esque squee of joy and that's everything I thought about this chapter. Brain tired...
THE TIE. ohmygravy.

I'll be in my bunk, now.
P.S. I agree with aquakittie above - we need the equivalent Mal/Inara scene before the story is over!

I also loved the waffle cone line, and the fact that the Doctor sometimes forgets to use all his senses. Lol at the Doctor running off on River in the middle of a conversation to go shag Rose. Social skills, Doctor!
The scene with Rose was a perfect mix of sweet and funny. There were a lot of wonderful lines (the Gallifrian sex talk, pigs being the sexiest of all the mammals) but also a lot of lovely emotion as well. Cheers to Rose to pointing out that although they might have sidestepped the Void, he still has to come to terms with losing her eventually. Hopefully the Doctor will allow himself a small measure of happiness.
Also:
He did not enjoy the idea of knocking on Jayne Cobb's door to ask for contraceptives.
This would be the funniest outtake ever!

Also, you make me want to write a series of outtakes. Another one would be the Doctor and Wash playing dinosaurs together until they are discovered by Rose and Zoe... Hmm...

So far, every Doctor Who/Firefly crossover I've read has been excellent, and yours in no exception. Your characterization is consistent with canon (BOTH series!). Your plot is well-structured, without noticible holes. Good use of foreshadowing and flashback--no "wtf?" moments (you know, clunky deus ex machina or a$$ pull), but some good suspense and cliffhangers. Your prose is fluent, virtually error-free.
I look forward to the concluding chapters!
