LOL! I don't know what I'm going to do with myself either! Chapter 26 is being beta read now, but chapter 27 is still languishing on my hard drive. I'm almost there, but I'm going to miss writing this!

Good chapter! I was glad to see the Doctor helping River, and to see him actually having the tough conversation with Rose. The question of unequal power in their relationship is very interesting, and one that non D/R shippers tend to bring up [as a major DNW on their part]. I would hope that the Doctor would learn to respect Rose's decisions even if he didn't agree with her, had they had their chance at 'forever.' Also, damn Inara's stubbornness! At least there's time for her to change her mind... right?

Yeah. I think that anti-D/R people tend to express a lot of disbelief that a 900-year-old alien with near unlimited power would fall for a shop girl from London. And to them I say phooey! The heart wants what the heart wants.

BUT they do have a point in that at *seems* ridiculous. So I think it's important to explore exactly why the Doctor needs Rose even more than she needs him in many ways. And even then, he has some growing up to do.

In any case, I'm hoping to have chapter 26 up on Wednesday. I don't want you to wait too long either :)

Well said. Rose isn't the perfect example of humanity, because the perfect human doesn't exist. He has to acknowledge that before they can truly commit to each other.

And yes, The Engineer has returned! :)

I love Rose's reaction to finding out the truth and her comments about his not being willing to accept Bad Wolf because it reflected him. It's really interesting seeing the different understanding that you get when you turn something around and look at it from a different perspective.

Thank you! I had no idea what I was going to write when I sat down at my computer, but this just seemed right. Especially in light of her convo with Inara, I think that this is where Rose's mind would go.

This was amazing. I loved the Doctor and Rose's argument, it was so perfect. Also you can not leave it there. I need more now :)
