Yesterday we tried to eat out at our favorite Indian restaurant, just the two of us plus Alyssa. Ha. She is now officially at an age where eating out is a big mistake. I watched with jealousy as a child probably only slightly older than Alyssa sat quietly in her high chair and watched her parents eat dinner. My kid wouldn't sit still in our laps ( ( Read more... )

Bah! Ali quit band this year too! I'm not happy about it, but there it is not one of those things that I feel I should shove down her throat.

Yeah, exactly. At least for us Rachel is still involved in several other activities, er...I think she is anyway :D We'll have to see with the coming school year. My 6th grader is just starting band, so at least I get that band parent possibility still.

Alyssa is 21 and a half months. I really think it's a kid dependant thing, too. I don't remember eating out being such a problem with Rachel and Rebekah.

I recorded the Shatner roast. It looked hilarious. The paper bag "Can you act your way out of this, please?" I'm looking forward to it.

It was funny. The preponderence of jokes were gay jokes (directed at Andy Dick and George Takei) and that got old, but not totally unfunny old. I thought Betty White was amazing. You'll just have to see it to understand what I mean. All these folks around her resorting to highschool humor and bad language and there she was....

Kaley has figured out how to un-do those snaps on the highchairs and grocery baskets. She just wants to stand up. I should just let her fall. Opps bad mommy. bad mommy. She also has decided she likes to bang silverware. sigh. I'm hearin' ya girl.

That's not being a bad mommy, as long as you don't let her crack her little noggin :)

I wouldn't mind if Alyssa banged silverware, if she'd just SIT IN HER SEAT!! I have to bribe her with a huge honking cookie to go grocery shopping, too. I chastise myself but at the same time know that kids live through all sorts of junk food diets, and Rachel made me feel better today by reminding me that although I had her totally addicted to grocery store cookies (and other briberies) that by 6 she was broken of the habit.
