Going with Crouch and Lunge. More importantly, Tiny Sorcerers! Neither rain, nor sleet, nor hordes of evil pumpkins will stop the mail from being delivered. Not on my watch.
There's...not actually very much to do in this quest. It's basically a boss fight, so I'm going to doublepost with a second event immediately after. For now, though, we should stop and see Pelican, see what she has to say about this mess.

Cactus Diary #2 - Tiny Sorcerers
Today I heard a story about two
little sorcerers trying to become the
kings of this world.
But pumpkins?
They used pumpkins?
I hope they're still yummy.

Understood! We'll just practice our magic.

Cactus, you're in charge.
Meet Bud and Lisa. Unfortunately, they'll be living at my house from now until the end of the game. Whenever I need a partner, I can bring one of them, and occasionally I'll even get quests from them.
Despite being able to call down diabolical pumpkins during their battle against me, they don't have any unique abilities like most other NPCs. Instead, they each have three magical abilities--Bud specializes in Dryad and Gnome, while Lisa specializes in Aura and Salamander. Bud uses a frying pan as a weapon (which has the same properties of a 2H Sword) and Lisa uses a broom (a staff). So in addition to their three magical instruments, they have one ST associated with their weapon of choice. Neither ST is anything special, and in all honesty, they'd probably be better off just attacking (Bud's frying pan gets fairly strong throughout the game).
Bud's Synchro is Spirit Plus, which increases my spirit level when I'm nearby. Lisa's Synchro, Magic Plus, does the same thing for my Magic stat. Not exactly the greatest Synchros in the game, no. Really, Bud and Lisa are just here as convenient, easily-accessible characters to bring along if you don't feel like tracking down somebody else, because they'll always be right there at Home.
